An Autumn Tale

a poem by Sofia Luke

Leaves are falling,

Leaving naught but sticks,

As the children start calling

“Give us sweets or some tricks!”

The pumpkins start popping up,

Over here and right there,

As the rabbits start hopping

And geese fly overhead.

Fall has befallen us,

And there’s nothing to do,

Except sit back by the fire

And wait for winter to come through.
